This was a timelapse I shot during my free time while I was in Louisville KY for a month long edit and shooting stint.

The race is done annually as part of all the Kentucky Derby madness.

Back in April Adam Adorno came to me asking if I could edit a video that he had been asked to direct and shoot. I said yes.

This video was made to draw attention to the budget cuts of nearly 3 million dollars that were planned to be made to the Upper Darby School District come Fall 2012. The budget cuts included cutting all art, foreign language, physical education, and other courses from the curriculum for k-12 students.

The point of the video was to inform people of the situation at hand, and then draw them to an online petition. They needed 30,000 signatures to prevent the budget cuts from happening.

Unfortunately they did not meet the 30,000 mark. However, through the impact that this video made, the higher powers decided to not go through with the budget cuts.

To my knowledge no art classes were cut.

I learned this information a couple months back, and I am still smiling.

In the summer of 2012, I was fortunate enough to work with Producer,Michael Zapanta, and shooter, Adam Adorno, on a weekly web series for the Concord Blue Devils.

The three of us produced 11 episodes, and one and a half hours of screen time over the months of June, July, and the first two weeks of August.

I was the editor and co-writer of the show. It was my first time writing specifically for a gig, and was both challenging and fun.

Above are two full episodes (the rest are hidden behing a subscription wall). And below is special edition episode that we somehow managed to produce amongst all of the other episodes. And then below that are all of the trailers we made to give a quick glance at each episode.

On my move out to the west coast I got the chance to stop by the Grand Canyon National Park and watch the sunrise. I then immediately hopped in my car and booked it to LA in order to see Animal Collective and Flying Lotus. It was a crazy day.

The timelapse with the sun in the shot was shot on a Canon 5D3 using the in camera HDR function. The other one was shot on a Canon 5D2 shooting RAW. I think I like the RAW better, but the HDR has its place in certain framing and lighting situations.
